Là tác giả của 10 tập truyện ngắn, 5 tiểu thuyết và 6 truyện dài dành cho thiếu nhi. Những giải thưởng ông đạt được: * Giải Nhì truyện ngắn báo Thống Nhất (năm nhà văn mới 22 tuổi). * Giải thưởng Hội nhà văn Việt Nam 1985 cho truyện dài Chú bé có tài mở khoá. * Giải Nhì truyện ngắn báo Văn Nghệ với tác phẩm Vũ điệu của cái bô. *Giải A kịch bản phim điện ảnh nhân kỉ niệm 1000 năm Thăng Long – Hà Nội. * Giải A cuộc thi tiểu thuyết của Hội nhà văn Việt Nam 2006 – 2009 với tác phẩm Hội thề.
